Bruce Howze

President & Founder

Bruce Howze

Bruce Howze is the President and Founder of Community Professional Loudspeakers.  While working as a young audio engineer and doing live sound mixing touring for groups like Jefferson Airplane and other emerging artists in the sixties, Bruce saw a need for better equipment in the industry and decided to start Community in 1968.  He pioneered the use of manufacturing horn systems and enclosures with fiberglass to create large yet lightweight loudspeaker systems.  He is also credited with many industry firsts including the first coaxial all-horn system and the first large-format midrange compression driver, among others.  Bruce remains active in the company today and continues to research and develop new loudspeaker technologies.

Steve Johnson

Steve Johnson

Steve Johnson joined Community Professional Loudspeakers as the CEO in 2013.  He came to Community from Bosch Communications Systems in Burnsville, MN, where he served as Global Brand Manager and Business Line Manager for Electro-Voice, RTS, Telex and Dynacord audio products worldwide.  Steve’s previous roles have included marketing and engineering leadership positions with Harman, Shure, and Motorola. Steve has over 30 years of engineering, marketing and management experience in the pro audio and communications industries. Steve earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University and an MBA from Northwestern University. Steve serves on the board of directors for PAMA, the collective voice and forum for the leading manufacturers of professional audio products and the people who use them. He also serves on the board for the Riverfront Alliance of Delaware County. 

Andy Hough

Senior Director, Finance & Administration

Andy Hough

Andy Hough has over 15 years of auditing, finance and management experience. Andy manages Community’s accounting, human resources and IT departments and is responsible for improving cost-effectiveness across the organization. Prior to joining Community, he held finance/accounting positions with KPMG, Siemens, and SunGard. Andy is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Widener University.

Paul Peace

Senior Director, Engineering

Paul Peace

Paul Peace has over 30 years of experience in the pro audio industry including loudspeaker design and development and large scale audio systems. He oversees product design, production engineering, vendor research, and product management at Community. In addition, he directs research in advanced horn techniques, DSP and equalization, array directivity modeling, and loudspeaker specification. Paul has previously held engineering leadership roles at Harman/JBL Professional, IMAX, and Renkus-Heinz. He has a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics from Georgia Institute of Technology and is currently pursuing a Masters in Acoustics from Penn State University.

 

Kevin McConlogue

Senior Director, Operations

Kevin McConlogue

Kevin McConlogue started as a production employee at Community in 1978, later becoming Production Manager and then Director of Manufacturing for our facility in Chester, Pennsylvania.  Currently serving as Senior Director of Operations, he oversees the manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain and warehousing operations at the company.  Kevin has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Immaculata University, as well as APICS certification in production and inventory management.

Wim Corten

Group QC Director

Wim Corten

To strengthen our focus on product quality improvement for both Community and our sister company Apart Audio, the role of Group QC Director was created and Wim Corten was appointed to this position in August 2018.  Wim has been at Apart Audio since 2010, most recently serving as R&D Director.  Prior to joining Apart, he was leading a reliability team at Melexis, an automotive micro-electronic semiconductor solutions company.  As Group QC Director, Wim is responsible for quality management at both Community and Apart, including quality functions throughout manufacturing, implementing process controls and ensuring supplier performance.
